See you next week!

I'm headed to Pennsylvania for the weekend to do some family bonding. I already checked the town we're going to on thethriftshopper.com and the closest Goodwill is 10 miles away :/
But last time we were down there we went to a really great antiques fair and everything was way cheap, I got a really nice mink hat for $6. Anyway, I bought lots of yarn today so at least I'll make some crafty things while I'm there being bored.

Those are some big, shiny gold pants.

John Galliano, what were you thinking? What are you ever thinking???

I also don't understand this:

Wtf?! I also like how there're all wearing sombreros?

p.s. this is Dior resort 09

p.p.s. I guess it's not all that bad considering the fall collection looked like robots on acid:

Photos

I love looking at vintage photos and superbomba's flickr is so much fun.

I'm super tired today and I have a science final in an hour, but I am not prepared and I think it's gonna be hard... :/
I got some cute stuff at the salvation army today, I'll post about it tomorrow.

Jeanette!

If you don't know Jeanette, you should because she is amazing.

Right now I'm just really looking forward to summer and long walks and going to all the thrift shops and riding bikes and cupcakes and the beach and all that good stuff. And not going to school next semester... Today I look like a school boy, not on purpose it just happened.

Here's another great video, this one's about shops at World's End in the 60s. Such good haircuts!

I want some op-art spats!

A Pink Dress And A Playlist

Yesterday I was running some errands and stopped by Goodwill and bought a great dress for only $12.99!!! It's usually not my luckiest thrift shop, but what a find! It was right on the front of the rack, just waiting for me.

It's so simple, but the cuffed sleeves and tucks at the shoulder make it really elegant.

One sunny day soon, I'll put it together like this:

Dress: Goodwill on 25th and 6th
Belt: something my sister bought ages ago, who knows where
Bag: vintage Ann Taylor from my mom!!
Shoes: Mood Swings, a tiny fabulous vintage shop on Staten Island, I was told they're from Ecuador, I think... Only $5!!!
Hat: also bought by my sister - last summer in Brighton Beach

P.S. Here's a little mixtape for today, to cheer you up on this horrible cold rainy New York day in May - wtf?! Just 10 songs, but so good. Here's the tracklist:

1. Shocking Pinks - This Aching Deal
2. Whitest Boy Alive - Burning
3. King Khan + the Shrines - Welfare Bread
4. The Shangri-Las - He's A Rebel
5. Belle + Sebastian - We Are The Sleepyheads
6. Oh No! Oh My! - I Have No Sister
7. Chantal Goya - Comment Le Revoir
8. The Kinks - Dedicated Follower Of Fashion
9. The Shaggs - Yesterday Once More
10. Françoise Hardy - La Maison Où J'ai Grandi
Also: SPOTTED! Also on Sunday I saw Taylor Momson/Jenny Humphrey from Gossip Girl at Antiques Garage flea market on 25th checking out vintage dresses with her mom and lil sis. She was wearing what I believe to be  a Chloe dress - white and flowy with a red and blue print - with a black leather motorcycle jacket and slouchy black boots. No I was not starstruck, no I did not try to talk to her, Gossip Girl is lame-o, sorrryyyyy. But it's always fun to see celebrities. Like a year and a half ago I saw Jared Leto at the same flea market. He was wearing silver crocs. There is no way to take someone seriously when they are wearing crocs.
